Pepite Rose ran the race of her life to chase home Sire De Grugy in a Grade 1 at Sandown nine days ago. She'd go close here if that form could be taken at face value. Kie has been placed twice over track and trip and won over 2m at Wincanton last month while Le Bacardy was winning for the third time in four starts at Ayr last month. Australia Day will ensure a good gallop, along with Kie, and that should suit TURN OVER SIVOLA. The handicapper is doing the latter no favours in his bid to get off the mark over fences but he continues to acquit himself well and had Cheltenham third Claret Cloak behind when runner-up in a Grade 3 handicap at Aintree last time. This looks too competitive for Fair Dilemma and Alfraamsey.
Claret Cloak (IRE) 7-2fav (11-8) Held up towards rear, steady headway from 7th, hit 3 out, went 2nd approaching last, unable to challenge winner, one pace when lost 2nd towards finish, 3rd of 16, 3l behind Parsnip Pete (10-10) at Aintree 2m hcp chs G3 (1) gd in Apr.
Australia Day (IRE) 12-1 (11-4) Led, driven after 4 out, headed next, soon rallied, weakening when hit, 4th of 10, 7l behind Willow's Saviour (10-2) at Musselburgh 2m hcp hdl (2) gd in Nov.
Kie (IRE) 7-2 (11-11) Took keen hold, led 1st, not fluent 3 out, soon ridden, stayed on well, won at Wincanton 2m hcp chs 0-135 (3) gd in Apr beating Spock (10-2) by 3l, 5 ran.
Turn Over Sivola (FR) 13-2 (10-10) Mid-division, hit 5th and lost place, not fluent 8th, soon pushed along, good headway approaching last, stayed on flat, went 2nd towards finish, unable to reach winner, 2nd of 16, 1 1/2l behind Parsnip Pete (10-10) at Aintree 2m hcp chs G3 (1) gd in Apr.
