MANSFIELD won a maiden race at Brighton by six lengths before going close at Doncaster on his handicap debut. Dropping down a grade for this, the Godolphin colt may well come out best. Jan Steen is another Brighton maiden winner and goes handicapping for the first time today. He makes more appeal than Renfrew Street and Shakerattlenroll, who have both been beaten in handicaps of late though the former has faced a couple of tough tasks in better company than this at Newmarket.
