In depth

Verdict

THE MAD MONK has improved for being gelded and bids for a hat-trick. A penalty for last week’s easy win at Southwell is negated by an apprentice’s allowance and he looks the one to beat. Life's A Beach and Smarden Flyer return to action having both posted improved efforts on last year’s handicap debuts but Tiare failed to settle and was well beaten when sent off favourite at Windsor and Nemorum is preferred on a recent third over track and trip.
