MORDIN started odds-on for his debut at Lingfield in December and, despite running green, bounded clear in the closing stages for an emphatic success. A half-brother to two winners, he looks the likely type for a decent handicap this year and has more scope than his rivals here. Ripp Orf races over a mile for the first time but has plenty of stamina in his pedigree and has yet to run a bad race – it will be a surprise if he finishes out of the frame. Mr Minerals made his reappearance in a tough handicap and won over course and distance last July but does have to give weight all round while Know Your Limit was racing over longer trips on Turf when last seen and may not have the pace for this. Cap'n has often been pitched in at the deep end but did win a novice chase at Ludlow last month and has given enthusiastic connections several enjoyable days out.
