In depth

Verdict

Laser Light won a Towcester bumper before comfortably landing a Chepstow maiden on his hurdling bow. He's undoubtedly been disappointing subsequently, especially when beaten at long odds-on at Southwell, but the quicker ground should enable him to do better though the concession of 7lb to JAISALMER may prove beyond him. Mark Bradstock's charge attempted to make all on heavy going at Plumpton in January and though easily passed by the odds-on Jerrysback the winner has gone in again so the form looks good enough for this. Wealth Des Mottes has to be a threat despite showing nothing in two starts for Paul Nicholls since arriving from France where he scored last summer. He's competed at a much higher level and there should be more to come. Aspecialpresent hasn't run since beaten a long way when runner-up in a Worcester bumper in 2015 while Tricky Silence has shown nothing to date and Mr Fenton has yet to show any improvement on his bumper form.
