TAILWIND beat Mazzini off levels in a course and distance maiden in December and was having his first subsequent start when mid-division on soft ground at Yarmouth last month. With that under his belt and a weight advantage with the runner-up, he can start making up for lost time. Townsville made a winning debut here last year but hasn't done as well as expected subsequently but Brilliant Vanguard is only 1lb higher than his victory at Ripon in June and didn't run badly over 7f here last month. Interlink is an obvious danger having made a sparkling all-weather debut at Chelmsford. A $400,000 yearling, he could be thrown in here though he didn't have much to beat that day.
