Verdict
James Ewart has his team in good form at present and his runner here, OPEN DE L'ISLE, further confirmed that when chasing home Nelson Du Ronceray at Ayr recently and he is taken to go one better today off just a 2lb higher mark, getting the vote ahead of Oleolat and Cash Man. Evelyn Slack's gelding lost no caste in defeat in a novices' chase at Catterick last month but seems a shade high in the weights back in a handicap today and he may again struggle to open his account over fences. Peter Monteith's Cantgeton has slipped to a fair mark but is hard to back with any confidence on recent form. Justwhateverulike struggled off his new mark at Catterick last time and of more interest may be Oleolat, who has slipped to a decent mark but has a bit to find with Open de L'Isle on their running at Ayr last time and James Ewart's gelding is taken to confirm that and take the honours here.
