DOVE HILL is likely to know his job and gets the vote in this maiden hurdle, with Gilsland among the dangers. The selection was bought by the Wylies after winning an Irish point in January by a comfortable eight lengths. He stays further than this, but it looks to be an ideal starting distance under rules, and he has to prove he handles a sound surface after that win came on heavy. Even so, he looks worth chancing in an open race. Gilsland is another unproven on anything but bottomless ground. He steps up in trip here and that is likely to suit given the way he has run so far, so improvement is anticipated. Sirkeel departed early last time but had shown enough form prior to that to suggest that he can again get competitive. On Spec represents a yard that has come back to form of late and therefore he could easily leave his recent efforts behind and a market check is advised. Stormin Exit lived up to his name when coming down at the last when still running a big race at Ayr last time and if he has got that out of his system then he too has frame claims but Dove Hill gets the vote.
