Verdict

CROWNING JEWEL couldn't justify strong market support at Catterick following a promising debut at Newcastle but this longer trip will almost certainly be in his favour and Keith Reveley's gelding should make it third-time lucky here. Soudain may not have lasted home over 3m2f at Huntingdon on Boxing Day and is better judged on earlier win over 3m at Hexham. Despite the penalty, he shouldn't be far away while Realmont can only improve on his fourth in Ffos Las having tackled Grade 1 company in France a couple of years ago. Seriatim, third at Downpatrick on his hurdles bow, and Blazin White Face, a winner between the flags and placed in bumpers last summer, look best of the rest.
