In depth

Verdict

A competitive bumper to close the card and from a shortlist of Quannapowitt, HIGH GALES and Jack The Gent we will side with High Gales. The selection showed plenty of promise on his debut at Ayr when he finished fourth behind Solway Sam. He is out of a winning dam that is from the family of Rule Supreme and if the market speaks in his favour, as it did on his debut, then it could pay to take the hint. Quannapowitt is another who showed up well on his debut at Towcester when he ran green. He should come on for the experience and if he does he will be thereabouts at the finish. Jack The Gent is interesting as he ran well on soft ground on his debut before running out of steam close home. He should go on the ground and he is another that has to be on any shortlist. It will be interesting to see if there is any money for Richard Fahey's newcomer Cunning Clarets, but in a race where the market could provide all the clues we will side with High Gales as the pick.
