Verdict

With Mister Chisum having seemingly lost his way of late this is probably best left to Xaipete and Big Wheel, with preference for the latter. The selection has an absence to overcome since July but has gone well fresh in the past, has ground conditions to suit and appears well enough treated. Recent Perth selling winner Xaipete failed to confirm the form with Double Blade when the pair clashed again at Sedgefield earlier in the week, finishing a five-length second. While Richard Guest's gelding has to be respected, this represents a step up in class for the 11-year-old and Big Wheel is preferred. Star Trooper has claims if fit following a four-month break, while a market move for Workaway would be of interest but Big Wheel has solid claims and is the selection.
