In depth

Verdict

Reivers Moon holds obvious claims here and, accordingly, gets the call ahead of Lord Saar and Broctune Melody. Before disappointing in a handicap last time, the selection had notched successive victories in similar events, and a repeat of either of those runs puts him firmly in the mix here. Russian Sky improved to finish second at Perth last time, although that was on soft going, but Irish import Lord Saar has to be respected based on his maiden hurdle third last time. Broctune Melody is also a likely type at this modest level, given that he has shown promise on the Flat and over hurdles. However, it is hard to escape the attentions of Reivers Moon, who gets a solid vote.
