      Verdict

      Absolute Ruler, a winner on the Flat in Ireland, chased home a more-experienced odds-on favourite on his hurdling debut at Market Rasen. Definite showed improvement when third at Plumpton but it’s too soon to write off bumper winner IOLAOS DU MOU even though he was pulled up tackling hurdles for the first time at Kempton. He was prominent that day until slipping and almost coming down two out.
