Verdict

Skinsey Finnegan only just gets home over two miles and will be suited by the quickening of the ground. Of more significance though are his steady rise in the weights and the lack of regular pilot Tony McCoy, so he is probably worth taking on. Nick The Jewel has struggled against the handicapper since winning three races on the bounce in November and December, while Friedhelmo, who returns to his optimum trip having been racing over further, is another who seems plenty high enough at present. Arctic Spirit makes limited appeal off the same mark as when a well beaten third behind King Of Mommur at Fontwell on Wednesday. Nephite bounced back to form when making all at Newcastle last week and has to be respected despite an 8lb rise since then but narrow preference is for Joey Tribbiani. The Ian Williams-trained gelding has conditions to suit, hails from a stable very much in form and seems well enough treated to take a hand under his good conditional jockey.
