The short-list comprises ELITE LAND, Early Wings and Lepido but there are a few others worthy of mention. Imminent Victory and Gainsborough's Art both posted decent efforts last time, Noubian and Palos Conti are unexposed for their current yards whilst Silver Bank, Istron Bay and Starr Flyer are just unexposed; all have the potential to be of interest. Lepido also falls into that category and it would be no great surprise were this useful Flat handicapper to improve on the form that he's shown to date. Gary Moore has his string in good order and the market should be useful. The market has spoken in favour of Early Wings on a couple of occasions but he's failed to take off as of yet. However, there was more encouragement to be taken from his run at Doncaster than from many of late and his yard sent out an impressive winner at the weekend. A number of those mentioned are potential improvers but the selection is an improver and involves less guesswork. Elite Land had shown improved form on the level since joining Brian Ellison and translated that to the winter game when beating a gambled on horse at Wetherby. He will find life harder from his revised mark but he appeals as the type to continue to progress and Elite Land can follow up.
