Stocks 'n Shares can beat Madge Carroll and the reappearing Fragrant Rose in this mares' only event. Stocks 'n Shares has won two of her last three starts over fences and looks a progressive sort. Her dam Norstock won 17 races, including the Tattersalls Mares Final at Uttoxeter, so John White's seven-year-old has a lot to emulate. The way she reversed earlier form with Lord Of The Hill at Hereford shows that she is going the right way, and she can score again despite having to give weight away all round. Madge Carroll, a winner here over hurdles, was successful on her chase debut at Folkestone thanks to a well-judged ride from Jason Maguire. She should be in at the finish, while Fragrant Rose, who was sixth in the mares¿ novice hurdle final at Newbury in March, makes her chase debut after a fair absence. She would like the ground a bit softer than it is but is one to follow. Champagne Lil did not impress with her jumping on her chase bow at Towcester, and as jumping is the name of the game, it is best to stick with the proven form of Stocks 'n Shares.
