In depth

Verdict

Busker Royal sets the standard but it would be no surprise to see one of the newcomers from the top yards - Gold Award, Into The Wild and The Old Pretender - land the spoils with preference for the Henderson runner. The Seven Barrows trainer has hit the target with four of his ten bumper runners at Huntingdon in recent seasons and this well bred Flat cast-off has been the subject of favourable mention. Into The Wild and The Old Pretender are traditional National Hunt breds who may need more time but Murphy attracted market support on his debut last year and is worth a market check. Le Vert Galant and Altolusso both showed ability on their debuts and could well take closer order now that they've got a run under their belts but the Flat bred Gold Award could have too much speed for them and gets the vote.
