Verdict

Charbel would have given Altior plenty to think about had he not fallen in the Arkle at Cheltenham in March. He’s had a pipe-opener over hurdles but was also entered in yesterday’s Tingle Creek at Sandown. Josses Hill won this last year but was beaten out of sight by stablemate TOP NOTCH in this grade at Ascot on his reappearance. The latter had had the benefit of a previous run but was most impressive and is an efficient jumper of fences, despite his size. God's Own has won three times at the highest level and will be all the better for his run at Aintree but he was behind Kylemore Lough at Aintree in the spring. Former champion chaser Sire De Grugy is looking a light of former days while Ptit Zig is better over hurdles.
