In depth

Verdict

Nigel Twiston-Davies registered a double on the day with Night Safe, who showed the benefit of experience to outbattle Kimi, the well-backed favourite. Both put in taking performances and should be noted with interest in the future. Especially Kimi, who will have gained plenty from this debut under rules. Ellersie George also ran respectably for third and can be placed to good effect in due course.
