      Verdict

Broken Reed is given a chance to redeem himself at the expense of Ferimon and Denada. The wheels came off Broken Reed last time out over 2m4f at the track and while it is always dangerous to back horses with excuses, there was enough in a victory at Perth in May to suggest that he could be worth following. Ferimon stays three miles and has to be respected from a yard noted in this sphere. A tendency to pull hard will test his stamina to the limit. Denada has been granted some respite from the assessor and while he is hardly an improver at his advancing years, he is scheduled to go up in the weights beyond this race. Just A Splash has shown glimpses of ability in the past and would be of interest if the subject of support. Highland Chief hasn't shown too much in the past but Tom O'Brien rates as an interesting jockey booking for the Henrietta Knight yard. Sea Map was campaigned into the places during the summer but has it to prove against stronger opposition. Broken Reed has his own excuses to defy but could be good enough to makes amends this afternoon.
