Roy Wilson's Flemross won well over course and distance earlier this month but he may struggle to follow up under his penalty and preference is for another runner with a penalty SHORE THING, who gets the vote ahead of Storymaker. The last mentioned won narrowly over Teenando at Carlisle in March but has been below par since then and has a bit to find with Flemross on running here last time so he may be booked for a place at best. Carlisle hunter chase winner Hartburn has been in good form in point-to-points but his most recent form in rules is below what is required to land this. David Pipe's runners are beginning to hit form so Armenian Boy has to be respected having run well in defeat in a handicap hurdle at Ludlow last time and now making his debut over the larger obstacles. The vote though goes the way of Charlie Egerton's Shore Thing, who showed progressive form over hurdles before making a successful winning debut over fences when taking a race at Newton Abbot earlier this month. A reproduction of that form may well suffice for the six-year-old.
