A competitive field goes to post with many in-form rivals in opposition, and Star Trooper, Underley Park and Clonroche Vinyls are all worthy of consideration, but we will side with the first mentioned. The 7-year-old has been in good form of late and a reproduction of his latest third behind Moscow Dancer will make him hard to beat as that rival has since franked the form under a penalty. Underley Park was a fair pointer and showed he could hold his own in stronger company when second behind Brush A King in a handicap hurdle. The drop in trip should pose no problems and he has definite place claims. Clonroche Vinyls was a fair third behind Steve The Fish last time but he gave the impression he was in the handicapper's grip so for that reason is opposed. Jack Pot II would have a chance on his promising bumper form but he has not progressed as expected over hurdles, so we are happy to stick with the game and consistent Star Trooper.
