Verdict

LLANTARA (NAP) completed a heavy-ground double last spring and has only had two subsequent starts, both in better company. She's had three months off but if ready for this will take some beating. Donald McCain has two entries, both course and distance winners. Princess Mononoke won three times on testing ground early last year and showed she was still reasonably treated with a fair run in a Class 2 handicap at Carlisle in December. Her stable companion Birch Vale won a novices' race here last May and though that was on good ground she had earlier won in soft conditions at Sedgefield when Paper Roses was behind. Sweet Vinetta was a very easy winner of a Catterick novices' race in December but didn't show the expected progress on her next start at Newcastle.
