Verdict

BREEZE OUT is taken to uphold recent form with Lord Samposin and hold off the perpetual second, Grasscutter, in the opener. Lord Samposin always runs well here, and has been churning out some fine efforts recently. He arguably ran his beat race to date last time, at Wetherby. Despite racing just two days earlier at Hexham, Lord Samposin had enough energy to make a real fight of it on the run in, just outpointed close home. He looks a threat. Grasscutter has looked blunt when it comes to the sharp end of races in his career, finishing second on no fewer than five of his eight starts. He has led on a couple of occasions recently over the last but has been outpaced, and he is opposed. Breeze Out has a penalty to carry, having beaten Lord Samposin with some authority over this course and distance. A 7lb penalty brings them closer together but Breeze Out is progressive and can score again.
