Verdict

Santiburui Lad is taken to make a winning debut over hurdles, with Rose Tea and Bobanvi best of those to have been over timber already. Five times a winner on the Flat, his latest victory came in claiming company at Redcar for Nigel Tinkler, and although no world beater, the six-year-old is sure to have been well schooled by Noel Wilson. Rose Tea made a winning debut over hurdles at Southwell but was moderate on the Flat and has to contend with a penalty. connections had to go to 6,800gns to buy Bobanvi back after her Cartmel selling success. That is her level and she will find the selection a tough nut to crack. Richard Guest's newcomer One Day, a New Zealand-bred, has Ahoonora on the dam's side and is not guaranteed to stay a trip over hurdles. However, only time will tell whether that is the case, and in any event, Santiburi Lad brings the best Flat credentials along in a bid to make a winning start over timber and gets the vote.
