Hey Ref won a bumper at Carlisle in good style, before being fourth at Haydock in his first hurdle when sent off favourite behind Black Frost. He is sure to have learnt from the experience and he will be hard to beat with this faster ground sure to suit. Maconnor rates the main danger on his fourth behind Tardar at Chepstow but his jumping has let him down of late. Mini Mandy was a fair bumper performer and she finished seventh in a grade two bumper behind Control Man last time if she reverts that ability to hurdles she would be a danger to all. Beechwood has also shown a modicum of ability in bumpers and is from a top yard so is worth a cautionary look in the market. Autum Re won a bumper on fast ground but has since disappointed twice on softer ground. The remainder need to improve on all known form to take a hand in the finish.
