Major Blue comes here on the back of a fair second at Warwick last time and, with that run under his belt, can score in a modest contest, his main dangers maybe being Sharvie and Sherwood Rose. The form of the selection's Warwick run looks to be head and shoulders above most of his rivals and, lightly raced, he might even have a bit of improvement to come. The stoutly-bred Sherwood Rose might improve for this trip, while Advocatus has won on the Flat in Germany but has failed to sparkle so far over hurdles. Sharvie has form enough at this level to have place claims, while Hunter Chase winner Novatara lacks recent form but has a visor fitted for the first time. Almanoso is capable of grabbing some money if on a going day but, all things considered, in a modest event, Major Blue looks the best option and gets the vote.
