In depth

Verdict

VALIRANN GOLD took advantage of a tumble down the weights when front-running tactics were employed at Chepstow last week. He’s penalised 7lb but drops down in class for this and should go close again. Folly Gate was leading over a longer trip at Taunton when falling at the last and looked to have the measure of eventual runner-up Gaelic Thunder while Greenrock Abbey beat School For Scandal a neck over these fences in November but never threatened when placed at Ffos Las last time.
