A modest contest can go to Adjawar ahead of some other disappointing sorts such as Christmas Truce, Desert Spa and Penny's Crown. Adjawar ran as though something was amiss when dismounted after the line in the race won by Dark Society at Fakenham on his last start over hurdles in January, but does at least line up on the back of a run on the Flat at Doncaster recently. John Quinn's charge was successful on the level in claiming company at York in 2003, and has taken on better company than today's since going hurdling. This poor contest should be within his grasp, and he makes slightly more appeal than the rest. Christmas Truce faded badly at Fontwell last time, so the drop in trip will help, and Desert Spa was a fair fourth over the course and distance on his latest outing. Penny's Crown is in and out, but is capable at this level, and newcomer Cassanos should be closely watched in the betting. Only a small investment is recommended on Adjawar.
