In depth

Verdict

A wide open handicap rounds off proceedings but a chance is taken on Major Blue. He is from a shrewd yard is proven on the ground and with the very capable Greg Richards taking off a handy six pounds he will be hard to beat. Silver Gift was a fair fourth behind Howdydoody last time and a reproduction of that effort would give him definite place claims. Another Copper was a good second last time out but that was on heavy ground and he has shown virtually nothing on fast ground before. Rockford is from a yard in top form and he is worth a look in the market but his best efforts have also come on soft ground. Streamsforth Lad was a fair fourth behind Rainbow River under similar conditions last time and a reproduction of that effort would give him definite place claims. Of the remainder Blazing Batman is ultra consistent and he is sure to run his race again off what looks a fair mark.
