Although only a seller, this looks one of the most competitive events on the card. Knightsbridge King, Kadlass, Arribilo and Indian Sun were all winners on their last outing, but a chance is taken with Pythagoras, who will have the added bonus of carrying a certain A P McCoy around. A maiden under both codes, he did at least show some promise on his hurdling debut when runner-up to the useful plater Mutadarra back in 2001. Returning to action after a 14 months break, he has understandably needed a couple of outings to put him right, and there were definite signs that all isn't lost with him, when he ran well for a long way behind the McCoy ridden L'Etang Bleu at Uttoxeter. He should be cherry ripe now and is taken to finally get his head in front. Knightsbridge King is exposed as moderate and is beatable giving weight away all round, while Arribilo won an egg and spoon race at Huntingdon and can't possibly be fancied to follow up under a penalty.
