Only one winning favourite in the last 10 renewals and this looks no easier to solve. Roger Varian sent out the winner in 2011 and 2012 and a bold bid is expected from TALMADA. She found only Secret Gesture too good in a Group 2 over 1m2f at York last time and the course and distance winner may have the edge over Kleo. The latter steps up in trip after going close in the Dahlia Stakes at Newmarket while stablemate Jordan Princess also has a shout having finished ahead of Criteria the last twice. The Cumani filly is closely matched on last season's running at Newmarket with the returning Queen Of Ice and the latter's stable companion Wonderstruck has a couple of Group 1 entries later in the year. Lady Tiana would prefer more cut but Lustrous is not out of this on last season's second in the Ribblesdale at Ascot.
