Verdict

Some disappointing types on display here and a chance is taken on CATCH BOB. Ferdy Murphy's horse is having his first try over fences and is expected to be all the better for taking to them, having joined connections on the back of an Irish point-to-point win. He did well over timber last season and unlike some of these has shown he has what it takes to win races. Prince du Beury is a maiden on these shores and, although jumping well last time, has a little to prove off this sort of mark especially with the drop in trip far from ideal. Similar comments apply to Kack Handed although he'd be a player if consenting to settle under Richard Johnson, Quatro Pierji jumped right on occasion over timber which has to rate a concern here while Blossom King will have to have found plenty of improvement from his reappearance.
