The Godolphin newcomer, Act Friendly, is nicely bred and entitled to respect in this field, but of those with experience, Zamala has shown enough to suggest she can pick up a race like this and is taken to score here; Golden Shadow, On Air and Special Moment also come into the reckoning. The latter is a nicely bred daughter of Sadlers Wells who did not show a great deal on her debut but should appreciate this extra furlong and is almost certainly capable of better. Golden Shadow is one of two John Gosden-trained fillies in the field, and ran very green on her debut at Leicester so could improve a good deal for that experience. On Air showed that stamina would not be a problem here when staying on well to be third behind a useful sort at Doncaster on her debut, and Mark Johnston's filly seems sure to go close. Act Friendly is a Sadlers Wells filly who is related to several winners and has to be feared, while Roger Charlton's filly, Mighty Splash, is another who merits respect. With the Richard Hannon team in such good form, it would be no surprise to see Shine Bright put a relatively disappointing debut behind her, but for the selection we'll side with John Dunlop's Zamala. A half-sister to a couple of useful types, she ran well on her debut at Sandown, finishing third to a horse who went on to be placed in Listed company. She didn't improve on the face of that on her only subsequent start when filling the same position at Newmarket, but she had to race wide that day on fairly dead ground and as such was far from disgraced in finishing third to what promises to be a smart prospect in Short Skirt. This looks to be a slightly easier task for Zamala, and she is taken to get off the mark under Willie Supple.
