Sir Gerry, Desert Lord and Dandy Man are the three against the field here in this top class contest, with Sir Gerry taken to maintain his progression. Desert Lord has not scored since taking the Prix de l'Abbaye two years ago but ran a blinder after a lay off to chase home another of today's runners, Borderlescott at Musselburgh. Desert Lord can be expected to come on for the run and must be thereabouts. Dandy Man can also be expected to go well despite a break. He goes well fresh, as illustrated when taking a Listed contest at Naas last year, and will enjoy the prevailing fast ground. He can hit the frame. Sir Gerry is given a swift rise in class, having won easily at Ascot on his re-appearance. He is very progressive, and though this is a step back in distance, he has the pace to be effective. He is also yet to prove himself on a fast surface. However, he is highly rated by his trainer and jockey, and he is likely to deliver his challenge late. Sir Gerry can land the biggest success of his career.
