In depth

Verdict

BROKEN QUEST is the senior runner in this but the five-times hurdles winner made a smooth transition to chasing at Ludlow and a 4lb rise doesn’t appear excessive. Thomas Macdonagh has been racing over further and was disappointing following wind surgery at Carlisle but Informateur was only caught in the shadows of the post at Newcastle and L'Air Du Vent is interesting dropped in distance. Glenduff, on the other hand, appeared to enjoy going over 3m at Doncaster. Captain Blackpearl is proving a much better chaser than hurdler and Keep Rolling was ahead of a subsequent winner when runner-up at Chepstow and will know more today.
