This could hardly be a better renewal with last year's first three home, Cue Card, Dynaste and SILVINIACO CONTI, the latter successful in 2012, all taking their place alongside Charlie Hall winner and runner-up Menorah and Taquin Du Seuil. Cue Card had his usual prep-run at Exeter earlier this month, his first since suffering a fracture of the pelvis and having a breathing operation. He'll have come on a bundle for the run and will be a different proposition. Dynaste arrived without a prep run a year ago and David Pipe has followed the same path with him. He went on to land the Ryanair at Cheltenham but was twice beaten by Silviniaco Conti, firstly when hugely disappointing in the King George and then when going down narrowly in the Betfred Bowl at Aintree. Paul Nicholls' charge had Menorah 14l behind in the latter event but didn't impress behind Philip Hobbs' nine-year-old at Wetherby. However, his stable in in much better form now and he's taken to repeat his victory of two years ago. Taquin Du Seuil was having his first start beyond 2m5f in the Charlie Hall and the Cheltenham Grade 1 winner stayed on well enough though this represents an even stiffer test. The remainder all need to improve but Snoopy Loopy showed in 2008 that shocks can occur in the race.
