        Verdict

        As Mister Mustard 'fell in a heap' on the run-in, to quote the commentator, Robert Walford got Pass Me By home in the finale. Mickey Croke, who looked all over the winner at the third-last flight, misjudged it and fell, while Torche came from out of the clouds - in a race where very few held realistic chances as they turned for home - to grab fourth place in the card's finale.
