      Verdict

      Trumpet Man has improved for the step up to today’s trip and completed a double with last week’s victory at Newcastle. Sashenka has been in good form over shorter trips on the all-weather while River Icon reverts to the Flat having won over fences recently. Winning hurdler Lord Lamington will be sharper for last month’s outing at Wolverhampton and handicap debutant Captain Haddock steps up in trip while Alfredo was finishing strongly at Bath on Wednesday. But TIDAL POINT was placed in testing going at Pontefract last time and may finally open his account off his current mark with the underfoot conditions in his favour.
