    Verdict

A tricky affair with little between most of these. Highwaygrey narrowly beat Wait Forever at Doncaster before running well again in the Zetland Gold Cup at Redcar. Both the former and CHICHESTER ran into trouble at Redcar but the latter wasn’t beaten far in third and is taken to reverse earlier form at York with Pivoine. Andrew Balding’s charge also failed to get a clear run on the Knavesmire but still finished ahead of Satono Japan and could go close. The latter is fitted with a visor for the first time as is Morisco.
