      Verdict

      Oriental Tiger was third over a shorter distance here last time though has also been placed over track and trip before. But he has yet to win a race while Scrafton has done all his winning so far over longer trips. MERCHANT OF MEDICI is preferred given Micky Hammond’s charge won last year’s renewal off a similar mark, his third victory at the track, and a good effort over course and distance a fortnight ago suggests he can add to his tally today. Ring Eye’s only success so far came on fast ground at Chepstow and Qibtee would prefer a greater test of stamina.
