In depth

Verdict

Gaassee is looking to improve on last year’s third in this but his form since then fails to inspire confidence while stablemate La Yakel faces a stiff task on his seasonal debut. Cumulonimbus made all over track and trip last month with Onesmoothoperator back in fourth but SHEER ROCKS (NAP) may prove the one to side with. He bids for a hat-trick having beaten Sir Rumi at Ascot before winning at Epsom with plenty left in the tank and there looks more to come from him. Maksud and Teumessias Fox failed to figure in the same race at Ascot while the veteran Euchen Glen is not the force he was a couple of year’s ago.
