      Verdict

      NORTHBOUND looked to be on the way back when third off this mark at Thirsk so gets a tentative vote. Billy Garritty won twice on Acquistor before Phil Kirby’s gelding completed the hat-trick in a lady amateurs’ race at Chester and is back on board today. The latter, however, has something to find with the hat-trick seeking Russco on earlier form at Carlisle. Lead Story may prove the pick of the remainder.
