This is a smashing race, as you would be entitled to expect for the excellent prize-money and in it we will opt for Coat Of Honour, with Bonecrusher, Windy Britain, Starry Lodge and Ionian Spring certainly among those that should be considered in this very competitive handicap. Now, Bonecrusher was a very unlucky-in-running third in a valuable Goodwood handicap last time and holds chances again, although he is two pounds worse off for the near-two lengths he finished ahead of Windy Britain that day, and the latter met trouble in running also. However, Coat Of Honour, who had earlier been unplaced in the John Smith's Cup, ran out a ready winner of the Goodwood race, although he is now three-pounds worse off with Bonecrusher for the length he beat him on that occasion. Windy Britain's trainer Luca Cumani also runs Starry Lodge, who has been raised just a pound for a very good third in the John Smith's Cup at York last time. Ionian Spring was a staying on ninth at York following a slow start and has attracted money in the build-up to this race. Mutafanen, who was an also ran in the John Smith's Cup, then went on to run a very good race in a Goodwood handicap from today's mark, while Fine Palette is a lightly-raced colt who should still be improving. From the lower end of the weights. Mark Johnston's King Of Dreams warrants some consideration, and Cripsey Brook is the the type to show up well in this kind of race, and Telemachus was well held in Coat Of Honour's Goodwood race but is now back to a competitive mark. However, the horses on the shortlist that we have compiled look to have a bit of class about them, and the best of these might turn out to be Coat Of Honour, who gets our vote.
