Verdict

Society Rock and BATED BREATH disappointed on their comeback runs but, with hindsight, both may have needed the outing. The former's second in Ascot's Golden Jubilee Stakes last season is easily the best form on offer in this but his stable has yet to strike form so far this year so preference is for Roger Charlton's charge, who may be open to further improvement and already has a C&D win to his name. He can reverse Doncaster running with Royal Rock, who has had his problems over the last couple of years. Victoire De Lyphar was a progressive handicapper last year and should hold his own in Listed company this year but Brave Prospector is exposed now at this level.
