      Verdict

      In the finale, the vote goes to Literatim ahead of, mainly, Sew 'N' So Character. The lightly-raced Luca Cumani runner, Literatim, has to be of interest here, despite the fact that he has not raced for 302 days. In his favour, though, are the facts that he showed a lot of promise last year and that Kieren Fallon has been booked to ride. He should go well in what is not an overly-strong strong a heat. That said, Sew 'N' So Character rates a big danger as he has been running well of late, including when put over a longer trip at Goodwood last time, and remains competitively weighted to our eyes. Dark Charm holds a chance on the basis of last year's form, but he will need to build on a modest pair of recent runs. Landucci has been on a roll and, even though each of his wins has come at Brighton, can't be ruled out of a good show. The handicapper has now started to relent with Flighty Fellow, a winner from a five-pounds higher mark last May, so he holds claims, while Royal Island is sure to get them on the stretch but today's distance does seem short of his best. Once again then, with analysis over, the selection is Literatim.
