tracked leaders in rear, chased winner over 5f out, ridden over 1f out, no extra final furlong
tracked winner until over 5f out, ridden and outpaced over 3f out, stayed on from over 1f out, soon chased winner, kept on and always held
made all, ridden over 1f out, kept on well inside final furlong
Just the three go but question marks against all. Clare Island Boy improved out of all recognition from a modest debut to make all in a Sandown maiden, sticking on well. He'll probably look to do so again to take the sting out of the speedier BROCKLEBANK but that Sandown success came on soft and it remains to be seen if he can reproduce that level on quicker ground. Brocklebank looked so useful when scoring at York that it was no surprise to see him head for the Coventry Stakes at the Royal meeting where he ran no sort of race. He is given another chance but needs to put that behind him. Basantee hasn't been disgraced in foreign Listed company without ever looking like winning and whilst she obviously has ability, the form is hard to evaluate in a race best left alone.
