    Verdict

Side Shot scored over a longer trip back on fast going at Chester and is only 2lb higher while Tawaareq passed the post first at Doncaster but was demoted to second having bumped a rival in the closing stages. MAGICAL LAND (NAP) has to put a frustrating run of placed efforts behind him but has been gelded since finishing third in maiden company at Newmarket. That form looks stronger now with the winner rated 102 and the runner-up subsequently landing the Group 2 Queen’s Vase at Ascot so Charlie Appleby’s charge gets the vote. Jaramillo can do better on today’s faster ground and is preferred to The Flying Ginger and Arqoob, who both won over a shorter trip last month.
