Just 8lb separates the sextet in a trappy little sprint. Economic Crisis has a hatful of wins to his name over this track and showed the fires are still blazing brightly when scoring rather cosily at Ayr from the re-opposing Lomu. He is taken to confirm that form but may just find one too good in BILLY DYLAN. The O'Meara gelding has been tackling decent contests and now moves down into Class 4 company for the first time since last September. He showed his turn was close with a 1/2 length third to Roundhay Park at Ripon recently and is at home on quick ground. The remaining trio are all capable of taking a hand with Marnie James the most likely to get involved as she too, like the selection, is a three-year-old open to progress.
Marnie James 4-1 (9-7) Held up in 4th, headway over 1f out, never a threat, 3rd of 5, 4l behind Eeh Bah Gum (9-1) at Redcar 5f hcp (4) gf in Jun.
Foxtrot Knight 7-1 (9-9) Pressed leader, led over 1f out, soon headed, stayed on same pace inside final furlong, 4th of 9, 2 3/4l behind War Whisper (9-4) at Pontefract 5f hcp (5) gf in Jun.
Billy Dylan (IRE) 16-1 (9-0) Prominent, every chance well inside final furlong, 3rd and held close home, 3rd of 6, 1/2l behind Roundhay Park (9-7) at Ripon 5f hcp (3) gd in Jun.
Economic Crisis (IRE) 12-1 (9-4) Tracked leaders, ridden to lead approaching final furlong, held on gamely, won at Ayr 5f hcp (4) gf in Jun beating Lomu (10-2) by 1 3/4l, 8 ran.
Desert Ace (IRE) 14-1 (9-5) Broke smartly pulled hard press leader, pushed along halfway, weakened final furlong, 8th of 11, 7 3/4l behind Island Of Life (9-0) at Sandown 5f hcp (4) gf in Jun.
Lomu (IRE) 17-2 (10-2) Keen, led after 1f, headed over 1f out, no extra closing stages, 2nd of 8, 1 3/4l behind Economic Crisis (9-4) at Ayr 5f hcp (4) gf in Jun.
