Verdict

Time Medicean and Forty Thirty give Mick Channon a strong hand here however three of the last four runnings have gone to Mark Johnston-trained (odds-on) favourites and from his two we will side with GESSEEM. Costing 200,000 guineas as a yearling, this son of Indian Ridge is a half-brother to the useful Tempsford Flyer and has Joe Fanning on board for this debut. Whilst his family have seemed better at three, if the market speaks in his favour then take note. Hard Luck Story and New Tricks need to improve on what we have seen so far, so a bigger danger may be Miss Cracklinrosie who shaped with some promise at Beverley and conditions should hold no fears. Punters may want to dive in on Radegund Abbey if he is supported in the betting, whilst Lomica is improving with each start but will be handicapped after this run. Forty Thirty's maiden looks very solid as the winner is Group class, however Gesseem looks an interesting newcomer and gets our vote.
